You buy an iPad once. You buy medication every fucking month, asshole, this is a ridiculous conclusion to draw that has no basis in reality. Never mind that health care is something we should all get without having to pay for it. Because it’s a human right. I honestly think I might not hate anything more than a fake, situational, self-absorbed evangelical. I really don’t.
This life-saving medication costs about as much as a luxury item only people over a certain income level can afford to buy once? I don’t see the problem.
I can’t afford an iPad. Can I have healthcare now, Rick?

Is it bad that I actually find some logical sound in his argument? From what I’m reading he’s essentially saying “yeah, that sucks.. but if we don’t give them profit they won’t want to make better drugs, just more cost effective drugs” I mean, this selected excerpt is certainly the only issue with what he says. The rest of it is very free-market logical.. And what he appears to be arguing is mandating the cost of medication. He does not appear to be arguing the mandation of health care itself.
People have no problem paying $900 for an iPad, but paying $900 for a drug they have a problem with - it keeps you alive. Why? Because you’ve been conditioned to think health care is something you can get without having to pay for it.
Jon Stewart:
You don't think two affairs hurt someone who thinks of themselves as a champion of traditional marriage?
John Oliver:
What could be more traditional than the arrangement that Gingrich proposed? Throughout history Jon, traditional marriage has meant powerful men doing whatever the fuck they want, whenever the fuck they want.
Michele Bachmann thinks children should be free to get HPV, tetanus, hepatitis, menangitis, chicken pox, and more. (via supcakes)
That’s really beautiful, Michele. Innocent little 12-year-old girls shouldn’t be forced to have a “government injection” against their will, but they should be forced to carry a pregnancy to term in an abusive or dangerous situation. I’m happy to have my liberty infringed upon if it means I won’t get cancer and genital warts. If you’re so concerned about my medical freedom, stay the hell away from my right to my own uterus.
I’m a mom. And I’m a mom of three children. And to have innocent little twelve-year-old girls be forced to have a government injection through an executive order is just flat out wrong. That should never be done. It’s a violation of a liberty interest.
